At Adform, our main objective is to build a secure and effective full stack of Advertising Technology Products (DSP, Ad Server, DMP). Our suite of products is not only transparent but delivers impactful advertising. Keeping both our platform and the advertising ecosystem free from fraud is one of our most important objectives, and we invest significant time and the resources of some of our most talented engineers to do just that.
The Adform fraud team have made a major discovery and have identified what is likely to be the biggest bot network that has ever hit our industry. Since our discovery, we have been tracking, analyzing and reverse engineering the threat as well as working with partners to help minimize the impact on the advertising ecosystem. Adform is happy to inform our clients that the HyphBot has had no material impact on the Adform Platform.
The bot network appears to be around 3-4 times the size of the famous Methbot network that was discovered by WhiteOps around 11 months ago. For further verification, we have sent our findings to external experts (Shailin Dhar, Director Research at Method Media and Dr. Neal Richter, Co-Chair of the IAB Tech Lab) who have both verified the analysis.
We have created this White Paper with the intention of providing you with information about not only HyphBot but also similar networks that may arise in the future. We are releasing these details with the clear goal of further enhancing trust and transparency in Digital Advertising and setting the bar at the highest possible level across all connected platforms.
