Digital marketing agency Ideas Made Measurable (IMM) worked with long-standing Ad Serving partner of almost a decade, Adform, to create measurable impact for a US client across return on ad spend (ROAS) and conversions. IMM turned to the Adform demand side platform (DSP) for the first time. We significantly outperformed a competing DSP, helping IMM to identify the targeting strategies that produce the best results for their client.

Recognizing our expertise, and with a desire to test our ID Fusion identity solution, IMM saw an opportunity to pit the Adform DSP in a head-to-head comparison against another platform in its roster.
The digital marketing agency wanted to find a way to potentially drive better outcomes for its client. IMM was already producing good numbers, but the goal was to see how much more the brand’s sales could be pushed and if there was any room to improve return on ad spend (ROAS).
With two DSP partners to choose from, both had to be tested with fairness and transparency, operating under identical conditions to establish which would drive the most impressive results for the business.
Over a 77-day campaign, Adform was tested against the other DSP with the same setup, budget, and flight dates.
The collective objective was to make the test seamless for the end client, so the only outcome they would notice is better results. This led to the iteration of strategies that would accomplish that goal.
Frameworks for the test were built to ensure the data generated could be easily analyzed for comparison of the two platforms. And, before beginning the test, a period of data cleansing ensured both DSP algorithms were at parity, with a clear naming structure for comparative reporting.
This approach enabled IMM to easily see that our DSP offered the superior performance across all metrics.
