The impending deprecation of third-party cookies poses a significant challenge to marketers aiming for personalized advertising. Digital Angels was determined to continue delivering innovative, one-to-one campaigns for their client, GameStop, a leading video game retailer.

Challenges:

In the lead-up to Black Friday, GameStop sought to launch an awareness campaign for their upcoming sale. The primary goal was to engage users in close proximity to their store locations, thereby boosting foot traffic. Additionally, GameStop and Digital Angels aimed to closely monitor the campaign's performance, with a focus on assessing whether users exposed to ads near a GameStop store were more likely to make in-store purchases.

Solution:

Adform's pre-bid DSP integration with Adsquare empowered Digital Angels to leverage top-tier location data. This capability was harnessed through Adform's ID fusion solution, designed to seamlessly identify users across various devices and browsers, functioning as a versatile bridge between different identifiers.

To target users near GameStop stores and entice them to visit, Digital Angels effectively utilized Adsquare's Proximity Targeting solution. Furthermore, Adsquare's Footfall Measurement solution provided real-time insights into conversions, enabling Digital Angels to make instant campaign optimizations.

Through Adform’s award-winning ID Fusion solution, GameStop could reach online users on browsers that have long-since deprecated third-party cookies, such as Safari and Firefox. This had the additional benefit of significantly improving the overall incremental reach of the campaign.
