.NET Software Engineer (Marketplace Group)


Marketplace Group is in charge of the key component of Programmatic Direct ecosystem focused on the discovery, buying and management of inventory. We are a team of bright and motivated professionals. Our team consists of backend and frontend engineers, manual and automation QA engineers, a product owner and a team manager. We use agile methodologies and enjoy employing cutting edge software engineering processes to build reliable, maintainable and scalable solutions.


Our current solution is a single-page application based on Backbone. We are migrating it to React/Redux stack. Our backend solution consists of Scala- and .NET-based services. We are moving toward micro-services architecture where we also using Kubernetes, Docker, Consul. In our environment, we are highly dependent on APIs. MongoDB is our data storage along with RabbitMQ and Kafka for messaging.


Your tasks: 

  • Designing, building, testing, deploying, monitoring and maintaining products and services
  • Building scalable high available systems 
  • Initiating and handling technical designs and complex application features
  • Contributing to the full stack: from storage to service to frontend
  • Collaborating with, learns from, and mentor teammates
  • Working closely with other teams to determine interdependencies
  • Working closely with and incorporating feedback from product management, client support team, UI/UX designers, and IT Engineers
  • Applying best practices defined by different functional areas (Architecture, Quality, Security, Product Management, Project Management)


About You: 

  • Expert knowledge of C# and .NET platform in general
  • Experience of working with databases (you have to be comfortable with SQL/NoSQL)
  • Significant skills of unit-testing your code and a habit to do so daily
  • DevOps and deployment automation experience (you have to be willing to learn at least)
  • Ownership mindset and proactivity (team is constantly and proactively looking for ways to make our product better in reliability, quality, performance, etc. and we expect you to share this attitude)
  • Good understanding of high availability, high performance, and security principles applicable to web applications
  • Good understanding of HTTP, RESTful web services and web development as a whole
  • Track record of successfully architecting, developing, delivering and maintaining web applications
  • Upper-intermediate English (you have to be comfortable to communicate in English with your colleagues from other countries in real-life and virtual communications) 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with OAuth, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Puppet/Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Linux skills (experience in running production applications on Linux)
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Knowledge of MongoDB query language and performance optimization
