Technical Copywriter (Training & Certifications)

Adform’s Business Processes team is responsible for processes, business tools, best practices as well as Client Training & Certification, and we help all parts of the business. We are de-centralized team, with colleagues in Denmark, Italy, Lithuania and the U.K. 

We’re looking for a Technical Copywriter to assist in the production and maintenance of Adform Academy, our Learning & Development platform.  

You will work closely with Training Consultants, technical specialists, designers, and marketers, producing and refining technical content for training modules to fit Adform’s style guide and desired tone of voice. Your expertise and ideas will shape our Training and Certification content and courses, increasing impact and memorability, and speaking to our products and their valueYou will set and monitor readability and stylistic levels desired across training content, and proofread and edit for US-English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.  

Your primary audience will be leading brands, advertising agencies and publishers across the globeYou will have opportunity to apply your vision, alongside the Training and Certifications Lead and Design Lead to influence the future of our client training experience. Additionally, you will attend or participate in internal and external events to ensure market knowledge is up to date, as well as keeping up to date on Adform platform updates and releases to ensure content is always relevant. 

The ideal candidate should be available for 15-20 hours per week, consistently but on a flexible basis to be agreed, for at least a 1 year period. Some travelling may be required.  

Main responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality, compelling technical copy that is appropriate for its intended audience  
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Write easy-to-understand educational text, best-practices, and how-to guides
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of product functions
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on repackaging, re-use, and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create and maintain the information architecture
  • Reinforce a commercial/marketing-oriented mindset and voice in educational resources
  • Deliver to overall project milestones alongside manager in relation to resource availability
  • Perform Industry Research – Stay up to date on emerging trends, key involvements in the industry and leverage this knowledge to shape and inform our educational roadmap
  • Participate in Industry events to stay up to date on digital ecosystem and competitors
  • Develop messaging with the voice and needs of the customer in mind, considering multiple perspectives to shape powerful product narratives
  • Share responsibility for audience engagement and customer satisfaction with the learning environment
  • Highlight challenges and solutions related to the completion of the project (people/technology/materials)
  • Collaborate on timeline and resources needed (people/technology/materials) to deliver the project
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver required content
  • Complete deliverables to agreed timelines  

 We expect you are/have  

  • Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation  
  • A high level of digital fluency 
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation with excellent attention to detail  
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills in US-English
  • Native / near native level of English in spoken and written form
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented and efficient individual contributor
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability
  • A global mindset with an interest, awareness, or background in cross-cultural communication
  • You view constructive input as a core tool for improving 

 It would be an advantage if you have: 

  • Knowledge of Adform’s platform capabilities 
  • Experience with Learning Management software  
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, or a related field  
  • Product Marketing, journalism, or research experience in the advertising, media, broadcast, or tech industries.
